Visions of Albion // The Body Prophecy
Are the names of my creative collaboration with electronic music producer Guy Sharpe. Visions of Albion is about reviving the myths of this land to meet the needs of the cultural body. My poetic storytelling is animated with his electronic sound design. The stories we are currently working on are the myths of Albina and Brutus.
Quintessence Podcast
Is a dream, as yet unmanifest… I felt disenchanted by the way we approached literature and poetry at Uni. I felt like practical criticism and postmodernism took the magic out of it. I often felt like people were afraid or unwilling to say what they actually liked about the work, what moved them… My vision with this podcast is to record my journey of reacquainting myself with the Western literary and artistic cannon, but through a relational animist perspective that doesn’t emphasise being ‘politically correct’, but rather celebrates the complexity of context and the mystery of the creative source.
Another dream…
I want to travel around this land of Albion and learn the Story of what is going on for myself. I am sick of disjointed political conversation that doesn’t change anything or help anyone. I am sick of the news. I am sick of my phone being the window through which I connect with the wider world. I want to ask the rivers, the mountains and the trees what they have to say about the matter. I want to coax the fairies and the dryads out of hiding… I want to know the Story with every cell of my being.
But how, oh God how, to make a living from any of this? I am currently working full time and living with my parents. I am hoping that putting my work onto a website like this is a step towards realising my creative vocation.
